Identify A Pest

Spiders may help keep your plants and flowers safe from other pests but they can be unpleasant if you’re frightened of them or if their webs take over your deck or yard. They can also worsen cracks and rotten areas that they use to get in and out of the house. These are among the most common insect found in homes and can cause allergic reactions.

What You Need to Know About Spiders

March, April, May, June, July, August, September

A common black-footed spider has a body length of between 4mm and 9mm, though its leg span can reach up to 30mm across. It is a pale yellow-beige in colour, with dark markings on its palps, jaws, and feet. Also known as the yellow sac spider.

Some adult spiders do not live past the fall season, while others overwinter under bark, in leaf litter or in other shelters. They are usually found in homes in corners of rooms, closets, boxes, dark crevices, basements, garages, and gardens.

Spiders mature in three stages: egg, spiderling, and adult.  Even after mating, many male spiders will die though the female is very independent and will care for her eggs.Unless it’s a type of spider that dies after laying her eggs! Depending on the type of spider they can lay up to 3,000 eggs in one or more silk sac at once. That’s a lot of spiders once they all hatch!
